About Western Autoglass
Western Autoglass is a mobile auto glass company based in Surrey, British Columbia. We replace windshields, door glass, quarter glass and rear glass at your address across Metro Vancouver, repair chips, and recalibrate the cameras that look through the glass. We are an ICBC Glass Repair Program facility, which means we open your claim, bill ICBC directly, and you pay only your deductible.
Who does the work
The company is owner-operated. The person who quotes your job is the person who installs the glass, and that is the reason the price you are given is the price you pay. Our technicians are certified auto glass specialists with more than eight years in the field, on everything from a twenty-year-old pickup to a new Tesla with a camera behind the mirror.
We were born in Canada and we serve Canadians. That line is at the top of every page because it is the whole company in five words: a local business, working in the cities we live in, answering the phone ourselves.
What every installation includes
A windshield is bonded to the body of the car. It carries part of the roof in a rollover and the passenger airbag deploys against it, so the installation matters as much as the glass. Every job we do follows the same steps, whether ICBC or you is paying.
- Full-cut removal of the old glass, without prying against the paint.
- Inspection of the pinch weld for corrosion, and treatment when we find it, because urethane will not bond to rust.
- The correct primers, with their full flash times, before any adhesive goes on.
- Automotive urethane to the vehicle manufacturer's specification, which is also what the BC inspection manual requires.
- New mouldings and clips, not the old ones reused.
- A written safe drive-away time for the adhesive we used that day.
- Camera recalibration whenever the vehicle needs it, with proof that it completed.
The camera question
Most cars built in the last ten years have a forward-facing camera mounted at the windshield. It runs lane keeping, automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise, and it is aimed through the glass. A new windshield changes what the camera sees by a fraction of a degree, which is enough to matter at highway speed. Recalibration is included in our quote whenever the vehicle needs it. Some vehicles can be calibrated where they sit and some need a controlled space and targets. We tell you which one applies to your car when we quote it, and we show you the calibration result before we leave.
Where and when
We work in Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Surrey, Langley, White Rock, Port Moody, Port Coquitlam, Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so a windshield that goes on a Sunday night is booked Sunday night. Your driveway, your workplace lot or your parkade becomes the bay. There is no shop to drive to.
The warranty
Every installation is covered by our workmanship warranty against leaks, wind noise and moulding fit for as long as you own the vehicle. If something is not right, call us first. We would rather fix it than read about it.
